Our “Why”: Lisa’s Story

It all started with pink and yellow streamers. How did something so simple lead to a lifelong passion and an event planning business? Let me explain. First, we need to go back to 2008.

I was 11 years old, and my birthday was coming up. My foster family at the time had a birthday tradition of hanging streamers above the dining room in their home. So when they asked me what color streamers I wanted, I chose pink and yellow. Picking my own birthday decorations may seem small, but this was about more than fun colors for me. This gesture told me that I was worth celebrating. That I belonged. Those streamers represented hope during a hard time in my life.

In the years since my 11th birthday, I’ve discovered my own passion for creating special moments for others. This passion was deepened when I planned and hosted my own wedding in 2021. Right away, I was immersed even more fully into the world of event planning. Through my own experience, I learned that intentionality is key to make events special to hosts and honoring to guests. Whether the reason is big or small, I love the significance of celebration.
